Extension of a Power Plant from 96 MW to 115 MW
Development, construction and O&M of an extension of a 96 Megawatt heavy fuel power plant increasing its installed capacity to 115 MW in Senegal, based on a 20 years BOO contract with the local utility Senelec. The extension consists of an additional 18.5 MW engine that runs on Heavy Fuel Oil and can be converted to gas to be connected to the existing steam turbine. The project benefits from a long-term senior A loan package by IFC (World Bank Group), and BOAD (West African Development Bank. The Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract is executed by the Consortium MAN Diesel (France) and MPG Services (Matelec Group Lebanon). Tobene Power is the second largest installed capacity plant on the grid at the moment and represents around 10% of installed capacity in Senegal providing power to approximately 2 million people and businesses.
