67.5MW Generation Plant

This 67.5 MW heavy fuel power plant project, structured as a 15-year BOO (Build-Own-Operate) contract with the national utility Senelec, provides reliable power to support Senegal’s energy needs. The plant is equipped with nine diesel gensets, each rated at 7.5 MW, and includes all necessary ancillary infrastructure, a 90kV substation, and fuel storage with a dedicated pipeline.

The project is developed in partnership with MHI Equipment Europe, which is responsible for the overall construction, operation, and maintenance.

Financing for the project is secured through a long-term package led by the International Finance Corporation (IFC, World Bank Group) and supported by additional international institutions such as BOAD, Proparco and CBAO.

Since 2024 the plant is now operated by the Kounoune Power personnel and supervised by the MP Energy team
