Melec Powergen (MPG), founded in 2004 to act as the IPP development arm of Matelec, has developed four IPP projects with an installed capacity of 270 MW. After strategically selling assets, MPG entered a transformative phase, leading to the establishment of MP Energy by its management team to focus on Renewable and Gas-to-Power projects.
This shift allows MPG to pivot into a new role as an investor and equity partner role for new ventures.
Matelec SAL is a Lebanese group active in the manufacturing of electrical equipment and in the turnkey construction of substations and power plants. Through 40 years of operation in the Middle East and Africa, Matelec has fostered robust relationships with utilities, which have been instrumental in the development of Melec PowerGen.
MP Energy benefits from anarm’s length partnership with Matelec, its designated EPC Contractor for thermal projects.
